biography

MARK MASCOLO is a Litigator recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the New York Metro Area’s Rising Stars.

One hundred percent of Mr. Mascolo’s practice is dedicated to representing individuals who have been seriously injured as a result of an accident.  Mr. Mascolo represents residents of Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Queens, along with the surrounding areas of Long Island, Yonkers and Westchester.

While Mr. Mascolo handles a wide variety of personal injury cases, he has particular expertise representing construction workers who are injured on the job due to unsafe worksites and hazardous job-site practices.  Mr. Mascolo has represented workers involved in all trades typically employed on a construction site, including laborers, electricians, iron workers, carpenters, plumbers, masons, plasterers, painters and asbestos workers.

In addition to construction accident cases, Mr. Mascolo handles various “Premises Liability” cases, including trip and falls, slip and falls, malfunctioning elevators, ceiling-collapses, negligent security, dog attacks, hot-water scalds, along with various other kinds of accidents due to hazardous conditions on another’s premises.  Mr. Mascolo handles serious trucking and automobile accident cases, along with medical malpractice and products liability cases.  Mr. Mascolo also represents New York City Policeman, Fireman and Sanitation Workers who are injured while serving this City.  Further, Mr. Mascolo has a wealth of experience suing the City of New York with respect to the many different types of incidents mentioned above.

Mr. Mascolo has helped recover millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for accident victims across his practice areas, which continue to grow and expand.  More importantly, through settlements and verdicts, Mr. Mascolo has helped to repair the future of many injured victims and their families.

Prior to founding FARELLA MASCOLO, Mr. Mascolo worked for Zaremba Brown PLLC where his practice areas focused almost exclusively on catastrophic injury cases across many of the practice areas mentioned above.  FARELLA MASCOLO continues to maintain a close working relationship with Zaremba Brown PLLC through an “Of Counsel” relationship.

Before representing people involved in serious accidents, Mr. Mascolo worked with insurance companies and defended many of the cases he now brings, which provides him with invaluable insight into the defendant’s strategies.  Mr. Mascolo’s years as a defense attorney provides him with a unique understanding of how the insurance companies and their lawyers operate, which helps facilitate favorable settlements for FARELLA MASCOLO’S clients.

The son of immigrants, Mr. Mascolo was born in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island at a young age where he has resided since.  Having been raised in Brooklyn and Staten Island, the community is a very important part of Mr. Mascolo’s life.  In fact, one of the driving forces behind Mr. Mascolo’s representation of accident victims is to better serve the members of his community.

Mr. Mascolo is a graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School (Staten Island, NY) where he was a member of the “Scholars Program” and played Lacrosse all four years.  Mr. Mascolo obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY).  In addition to focusing on his studies, Mr. Mascolo took part in intramural sports and took advantage of internship opportunities while at Rensselaer.  Mr. Mascolo obtained his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law (Queens, NY).  In addition to the curriculum at St. John’s University School of Law, Mr. Mascolo served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Michael A. Corriero (retired) in the Criminal Youth Part of the New York County Supreme Court.
